GITT Sector, a portal conceived as a Tourism Observatory for the study and dissemination of the Governmental and Institutional travel sector, is launched in February 2020 with the aim of continuing to generate research, studies and academic content.
This follows the conclusion of the exhaustive research process carried out by the Tourism Optimizer Platform (TOP) Project, through which governmental and institutional travel was officially defined as a new sector within the Tourism industry, called Governmental and Institutional Travel and Tourism (GITT).
The creation of this Tourism Observatory, following the line of today's most influential think tanks, allows to continue framing and centralizing this type of travel, with everything that surrounds it. Accordingly, the main objectives and activities that are addressed are focused on:
- Analyzing and publicizing events and information of great importance for all the agents involved in these trips, from the media and delegations to suppliers of all types of services.
- Disseminate, through academic publications and research, aspects of great relevance for the sector and the correct development of International Relations.
- To highlight the notable differences of the governmental and institutional travel sector with respect to other sectors within Tourism, highlighting its recent identification and professionalization.
